About the Misfits

Mitch's Misfits is a student booster group for the Michigan Technological Universtiy Huskys Men's Division 1 hockey team.  We are a very loosely defined group, but have a membership of over 450 members, making it one of the largest, if not the largest, on campus.  Most members can be defined as those in the standing only student section of the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena.  Mitch's Misfits was formalized as a Michigan Tech student organization in 2004 with the primary goal of improving the student crowd's impact at home hockey games and to organize large road trips to specific away series'.

The most notable event that we organize is a one game road trip for 150 students to our rival, Northern Michigan.  For freshmen, we cover all costs involved, including a tickets and transportation in Tech Vans.  We also host a 70 student road trip to a two-game series at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

While the Misfits are primarily funded by the Undergraduate Student Government and donations, the Alumni Association of Michigan Tech has been able to offer us discount ticketing at multiple events.  Also, the Blue Line Club of Michigan Tech is a close partner and we would like to thank them and the above organizations for their contributions.
