Who is Mitch?

Mitch Lake completed his 17th year overall as the public address announcer for the Michigan Tech hockey team with the end of the 2003-2004 season. He is in his 23rd year as the news director and radio personality at WMPL, 920 AM and WKMJ, 93.5 FM, in Hancock, Michigan. Lake is a 1975 Graduate of Lake Superior State University where he earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering technology. He began his education at Michigan Tech in 1971 and earned an associate degree in civil engineering technology. While at MTU, Lake served for two seasons as a student manager of the Michigan Tech hockey team. Lake, who was presented with an Honorary M by the Huskies in 2001, has two daughters, Pamela and Holly. He resides in Houghton, Michigan.
