Weekend Recap and a Look Ahead
Sun, 10/12/2008 - 11:00pm — crazypotatoesAfter 800 miles of driving, two hockey games and two successful invasions, this weekend is drawing to a close. The Huskies came out of this weekend with a 1-1 record by way of an embarrassing 5-2 loss to Northern Michigan and a hard-fought 3-2 win over Lake Superior State.
----
Friday night was the annual Take Over the Berry trip, and it went off without a hitch. Despite the ugly score, the 150 Misfits in attendance definitely did take over the BEC. I was told that we were louder than the NMU student section, even if you were standing right next to the NMU students.
With about 3 minutes left and the scoreboard reading 5-1 in favor of NMU, the Misfits finally took their rightful positions standing and and did some of the loudest cheering of the night. The team responded and Alex MacLeod got his first goal as a Husky at the 18:35 mark of the 3rd. Even though the game ended at 5-2, the Misfits continued the noise, drowning out the remaining NMU fans at the final horn with "Let's Go Huskies!"
